I am a U.S. Army Veteran whose career began at the Specialized Search Dog (SSD) School, an advanced explosives detection program. SSD School focused on training Handlers to condition dogs for on and off leash detection work, enabling them to search for explosives up to 300 meters away using hand and arm signals. Several years later, I further advanced my skillset by completing the Military Working Dog Handlers Course, where I was trained to handle dual-purpose patrol dogs. These dual-purpose patrol dogs were conditioned to detect explosives or narcotics as well as being trained in controlled aggression for use on and off military installations. Throughout my military career, I had the privilege of deploying to combat zones, working alongside both Special Operations Forces and conventional Army units.
Following my military career, I served as a private security contractor for the U.S. Department of State. In this role, I deployed overseas with my assigned Explosive Detection Dog (EDD), supporting the safety and security of American personnel and interests on U.S. Embassy property.
After completing my private contract work, I transitioned into law enforcement, serving as a Sheriff’s Deputy. During this time, I co-founded a small business to provide training to family dogs, therapy dogs, emotional support animals and to sell merchandise all at an affordable price.
